One Piece at a Time

Well, I suppose you could do worse than quote a Johnny Cash song with your first blog post. I’m still trying to wrap my head around business such as links, themes, blogrolls, widgets and the like. And then there’s the tags vs. categories question. Hell, I haven’t even filled in my “About” page yet. But I figure the trick is to just start posting and untangle the rest as I go.

Incidentally, what’s up with pingbacks and trackbacks? Does anyone actually use these things? Notifying any blog you happen to mention, or being notified by any blog that happens to mention you, all seems a bit much (not that I’ll have to worry about it anytime soon). Is there some kind of relevant blogosphere etiquette I should know about?
